Activating the course

In order to activate the course that is assigned to you by the university administration the instructor needs to follow the given steps

Log in to Brightspace and enter the course information assigned

Select the option of Course Tools, then go to Course Admin from the navigation bar.

Select Course Offering Information from the Site Setup menu.

Check the box next to Activate, then click Save.

Creating new Brightspace Groups

Brightspace has an option of creating groups of the class. In this way, the instructor can divide students into small groups for discussions, assignments, tests, duties, and other activities. This can be configured with several grouping options. All Brightspace groups are further associated with an underlying category. This category helps in organizing the groups.

For example, if you want to divide a task to different students on a weekly basis then you can create different groups for each week of the course. You can also name the groups depending on their category like, “Week 1”, “Week 2”, and so on.
